At the Eat Real Festival, participants learn where food comes from, who grows and makes it, and how they make it. Eat Real Festival attendance is 100% free of charge, all food at the festival costs $5 and less, and all food incorporates regionally-sourced, fabulous, and sustainably-produced ingredients. Eat Real’s cause is to promote and teach food craft. This festival affects us by revitalizing regional food systems, building public awareness of and respect for the craft of making good food and encourages the growth of American food entrepreneurs. Execution Eat Real held festivals in Oakland and Los Angeles this year and I Shot Him worked with them to create signage that could be used across two events, reducing costs and weight for our client. We created posters and postcards that, like Eat Real, highlighted regionality. We gave them a pantry of illustrations -- literally and figuratively. the city of San Francisco. I Shot Him was brought into the project to create something that would go viral and be fun enough that people would inadvertently learn how to be prepared for the next big one. The site explores 6 different scenarios that one might find themselves in during an earthquake, and tests the user's knowledge about what to do to stay safe and unharmed. We have been working on this project for over a year now at I Shot Him. We have created communications strategies and plans as well as designed pretty much everything you see for the program. That includes anything from the SFpark meters to animations explaining the project. For us, the exciting part about parking is the place you are going to while trying to park. You only care about parking in the Mission because you want to go have some good mexican food (or party, or whatever). With that concept in mind, we created illustrations celebrating different neighborhoods in SF. We stylized a map pinpoint and put it in an open parking spot letting people know that you can now find parking online.
